Veterans Memorial of Orange Park

Veterans Day Essay Contest

Over the past few years we have invited Clay County students to participate in an essay contest to share their thoughts on Veterans Day and our veterans.  There is an Elementary Division, a Junior High Division and a Senior High Division.  The top five finishers in each division are recognized and the winners are invited to read their essays at the annual Veterans Day Ceremony.

We are pleased to offer copies of the winning essays from our 2018 contest for your review:

Elementary Division - What is Veterans Day?
Junior High Division - Why Veterans Deserve our Respect, Support and Understanding
Senior High Division - Why is it Important to Celebrate Veterans Day
